Slide Emerges from Beta with Millions Watching Daily

Upgraded Features, Mac OS X Version Make Service Even More Useful and Fun for Anyone

SAN FRANCISCO – August 8, 2006 – After exhaustive tests and countless sleepless nights, Slide, Inc. today announced that its flagship product, Slide, is coming out of beta with a number of enhancements, including an updated version for Mac OS X and a new screensaver mode. Millions of desktops and Web sites are now using Slide, and the number continues to expand rapidly. (See today.s .eBay. announcement for more about Slide for the eBay community.)

Slide delivers customized shows of news, photos, merchandise and other digital information directly to people's desktops or Web sites, dramatically changing how they receive and consume information. Viewers can easily create shows with photos and other content from their own hard drives, as well as an unlimited number of Web content sources, including news, blogs, communities and shopping sites. Slide can be downloaded onto desktops or embedded into Web sites.

"I'm amazed at how quickly Slide has taken off by word-of-mouth alone in less than one year," said Max Levchin, CEO and founder of Slide. "I'd like to thank everyone who provided product feedback and supported us in other invaluable ways. We look forward to rolling out even more exciting features and applications in the coming months."

Two key enhancements to Slide include the following:

  • Slide for Mac OS X - includes all the functionality of the Windows version, plus many additional features specific to Mac users, including seamless integration with iPhoto and the ability to play videos from YouTube and other sources directly in Slide.
  • Slide screensaver mode - includes all the functionality of the desktop product in full screen mode, which allows viewers to stay even more connected with the people and issues that matter to them.
